Hévin (Jean)

  • fl. c. 1537
  • (agents)
great-grandfather of lawyer Pierre Hévin (d. 1692, the third of his name), possibly of Irish or Scottish ancestry. According to the latter’s biographer Poullain-Duparc, who had access to certain family records (anciens mémoires), Jean belonged to a noble Irish family and arrived in Arras in 1537, after which he married Marguerite Morieux.
